Dead Island 2 launches on Steam with 50% discount

Dead Island 2 is now available on Steam

Dead Island 2 is the game that nobody expected to launch. The game was revealed in 2014, and it’s an understatement to say that the game’s development was a challenge. Now, after a year of Epic Games Store exclusivity, Dead Island 2 is now available on PC through Steam. Better still, the game is available with a 50% discount.

On Steam, Dead Island 2 has released with a “Playable” rating on Steam Deck. Now, Dead Island 2 is playable on the go with ease using Valve’s popular gaming handheld. The only problem that gamers will face is some small text and needing to use the Deck’s on-screen keyboard from time-to-time.

One downside of this release is that it uses Epic Games’ Online Services, which has annoyed many Steam players. Gamers who have waited for this game’s Steam release wanted to avoid the Epic Games Store. While Epic’s Online Services are a separate thing, it is easy to see why Epic Games avoiders are annoyed. Even so, this is a minor gripe at best. One has to wonder if Epic Games Store avoiders also avoid games using Epic’s Unreal Engine?

It is great to see that Dead Island 2 is now available on PC’s most popular gaming storefront. If you skipped the game at launch, you can now buy it with a huge 50% discount, and buy the game’s DLC for super-cheap. That’s great news for anyone in the mood for some zombie slaying.
