With only a 1080P screen and the frugal GTX 1060 to power, the power brick for the Recoil II is very svelte. As we'll see in a moment in plugs in around the back, which is our preferred placement.

Without a big logo to advertise to passers-by or other dwellers of Starbucks, the back of the Recoil II chassis is simple acreage of brushed aluminium. Very attractive. We like the minimalist look, even if our camera wasn't too happy trying to focus on nothing.

Some chassis are designed to exhaust at the side, or around the back, but the Recoil II exhausts almost everywhere. This should lead to good low temperatures or at least a nice quiet gaming experience.

The keyboard is a nice change from the usual fare we see pass through the office. Particularly nice has to be the bevelled edge on the keycaps. It's certainly unique and doesn't interfere at all with your gaming/typing experience.

Connectivity ticks off all the mid-range boxes, with two USB 3.1 Type-A, a single USB 3.1 Type C (around the back), card reader, LAN port and the all-important headphone and microphone jacks.

Around the back we find the display output options as well as the aforementioned USB 3.1 Type-C connector and the input for the power cable.

The keyboard supports per-key RGB lighting and the bold clear font lets the lighting shine through nicely. Unlike some RGB keyboards there isn't the gradient between competing colours as they smear together, but instead each key is uniquely lit.
