Clock Speeds

We're hardly likely to undertake such a theory without pushing everything as hard as we can, and to this end our Core i9-9900K has been overclocked to give us 5GHz on all eight cores, whilst the i9-10980XE doesn't go as far with all those cores it's still capable of a not inconsiderable 4.7 GHz on all eighteen cores.

The memory is setup at 3200 MHz. The Strix RTX 2080 Ti White Edition is one of the fastest Ti cards around, even if the GPUz speed doesn't demonstrate this we know that once the GPU Boost technology gets working it's easily capable of well over 2 GHz average boost.

With everything set up and ready to go, let's run it through our bench suite. Naturally in the CPU intensive workloads the X299 system will triumph, but how much performance are you giving up for the significantly more affordable Z390 setup?
