Clock and Storage Speed

The Core i7-7820HK is an excellent chip around which to base your gaming laptop with four cores and eight threads of 3.6 GHz loveliness. The DDR4 memory is pretty good at 2666 MHz and shouldn't cause a bottleneck anywhere, even if it isn't up to the blistering speeds of some desktop memory. Lastly the nVidia GTX 1070 forms the heart of the gaming side of the Omen X. nVidia have come a long way in recent generations and the days when you almost had to knock two generations off of the mobile number to get the equivalent desktop performance are long behind us. This is a GTX 1070. No cut down. No trimming. Full fat.

The primary storage device is a 240GB NVMe M.2 drive with some blistering transfer rates. If you've never experienced the joys of a truly fast M.2 drive then the Omen X will definitely convert you to the cause.

That's really rather lovely. I don't usually do laptops at all, but it's lovely. Love the keyboard and the "Voodoo DNA"Quote
