Western Digital Black 1TB NVMe Review

ATTO

ATTO tests the drives over a huge range of block sizes and the Western Digital Black performs at a level far more in keeping with that which we would expect from an NVMe M.2 drive. In fact it's only the smallest edge that puts the Samsung 970 above it in the Read tests whilst the Western Digital tops the graph in the Write test.

It's a very good drive but in the US it's actually cheaper to get a 970 Evo so I'd probably still stick with SamsungQuote

NBD: check out Adata's NVME drives. Best bang for the buck IMO, at least in Canada. Their SX8200 (model # might be wrong) 960GB comes in at about $120 cheaper than a 1TB Samsung, and it's 95% as fast.Quote

Quite a bit cheaper indeed! That's how much they should cost honestly. I bought a 1TB SSD 2 years ago for the prices they are today. Nothing has changed except speed but that's not a massive difference for a storage drive (certainly not for the money in my opinion)Quote
