PCI Express 4 NVMe Drive Roundup

Anvil IOPS

The Input/Output Operations Per Second is a popular test about which manufacturers like to brag. As you can see from the results below there is almost nothing to choose between any of the drives in any of the tests. Indeed they are all almost within test variance tolerance, with just the Sequential Write IOPS on the Viper sticking its head above the parapet.

It's so nice to see Patriot back. IDK where they went for so long, but their new range (RAM etc) is cheap yet very pretty.

Cheers Guv, I shall watch the vid later in bed Quote

That Corsair box just won't give up. Could you lower the volume for OC3D intro Tom? It is deafening in most of your videos.Quote

Why is no one addressing the actual performance of NVME drives? It doesn't matter that it can do 5000 MB a second sequential. Sequential doesn't matter at all. The most important things are IOPS, Low Queue Depth, sustained write and 4K performance. 970 Pro and especially 905p although on paper "slower" and PCIe Gen. 3 are demolishing these drives in pretty much every task.Quote

The blue Patriot. Does it have chips on it that say Phison per chance?

I bought two Pioneer drives and they're actually Phison which are blue.

Chances are Patriot are buying them like that.Quote
