Crucial BX100 1TB SSD Review
One of the coolest things about this job is the fact that we get to see pipe dreams come to fruition. Whilst for the majority of us it might be running the hardest 3D Mark test and wishing for the day graphics card technology has caught up, today we're looking at a different dream. All the speed of a solid state drive, but in a capacity that is usable in these modern times of big games and HD video.
Recently we reviewed the Crucial MX100 in a 512GB capacity, and it was the ideal combination of capacity and performance, at a price that made the old days when a SSD was around £10 per GB seem a distant memory. Here we have the BX100 drive in a massive 1TB size. Big enough to be a main drive. So how does it stack up?
Manufacturer claimed speeds are more reliable than they used to be, although we still treat them with a pinch of salt. Still, if the BX100 gets close to 535MB/s we'll be really happy.
As with all SSDs there is little to see in the photographs. The BX100 only comes with a spacer, rather than a 3.5" to 5.25" adaptor. But for this price we're not complaining.
