4K Screenshot Graphical Comparison - Part 2

Quake Champions Early Access Performance Review

4K Screenshot Graphical Comparison

One of the important things to know with Quake Champions is that the visual differences between most of the game's graphical preset are almost impossible to spot when the game is in motion, with the exception being the jump between low and medium settings.

In our testing, we did find that medium settings did have a strange Haze/fog effect that was in the game in certain outdoor scenes, particularly when the map features heavy rain. This does not really harm visibility, though it does desaturate the colours in these locations in a big way, which may annoy users. This effect is not seen in High or Ultra game settings.

Holy crap those sliders are fudging *sweet*. Brilliant !!

Is this running DX or Vulkan? I sat staring at the pics but couldn't see anything. Either way it seems to run like crap from the proverbial digging instrument so cool beans.Quote

The game uses DirectX as far as I can tell. Bethesda did say that a Vulkan version was coming, but that was a long time ago and plans may have changed.Quote

Pretty interesting analysis. The way I see it though, based on those screenshot comparisons, running it on low makes it easier to see things. Especially if you put textures on low and whatever setting controls the lighting quality. But on ultra it just looks so sweet and it's so easy to run.Quote
