Destiny 2 Beta PC Performance Review

1080p Performance

When looking at the game's performance at 1080p we can see that Destiny 2 is easily capable of running at 60+ FPS framerates on the PC platform, with all of our test hardware achieving average framerates of 60+ FPS at high in-game graphical settings.

Only our older R9 380 and GTX 960 Strix GPUs were unable to achieve a constant 60+ FPS framerate, though both could easily achieve this with a few minor drops in graphical detail. High refresh rate nuts will also be pleased with this game's ability to be played at 100+ FPS framerates, though we can see that out i7 6850K CPU is seeing CPU limitations given how similar the performance of Nvidia's GTX 1080 and 1070 are.

This is great news for PC gamers, given the fact that this game is designed to run at 30Hz on all console platforms, even the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

Well they didn't use 16 threads like they said they would. Though hitting 8 threads and still seeing performance increases is still impressive. I'm not even sure it would be worth them using more threads at this point. For Ryzen 7 in particular, with all those extra threads getting little usage, if you were to stream you would have A LOT of extra headroom for the stream and should be able to do it without much problem.Quote

Support for SMT is pretty broken in Destiny 2 ATM, though it could be fixed before launch. We will have to wait and see. That is the things with Beta releases, they are subject to change.Quote

Yeah I understand. I just think it should not be broken since they so confidently claimed they will use 16 threads. If it's broken doesn't give much hope at launch
But still not many games even use 8 cores. So it's still an achievementQuote
