Destiny 2 Beta PC Performance Review

VRAM Usage

When it comes to VRAM usage, Destiny 2 is rather minimalistic, never using more than 4GB of VRAM at any time during our testing. Those with 4GB or larger frame buffers can easily set the game's texture detail to high without any worries, with the game easily performing well with 2GB GPUs which is great news for those who use low-end or older hardware.

There is a possibility that Bungie will release Destiny 2 with higher resolution textures, though it seems for now that Destiny 2 will easily perform well on hardware with smaller frame buffers.

Well they didn't use 16 threads like they said they would. Though hitting 8 threads and still seeing performance increases is still impressive. I'm not even sure it would be worth them using more threads at this point. For Ryzen 7 in particular, with all those extra threads getting little usage, if you were to stream you would have A LOT of extra headroom for the stream and should be able to do it without much problem.Quote

Support for SMT is pretty broken in Destiny 2 ATM, though it could be fixed before launch. We will have to wait and see. That is the things with Beta releases, they are subject to change.Quote

Yeah I understand. I just think it should not be broken since they so confidently claimed they will use 16 threads. If it's broken doesn't give much hope at launch
But still not many games even use 8 cores. So it's still an achievementQuote

Indeed! On my Ryzen 5 and gtx 1080 the game runs at 100fps with max settings.Quote
