Destiny 2 Beta PC Performance Review

4K Performance

4K is the only resolution where we started to struggle to achieve steady 60+FPS framerates, with every GPU tested requiring lower settings or a lower resolution scale.

Those that are satisfied with 30FPS gameplay, the same framerate as the console version, will be happy to know that even the lowly GTX 1060 Strix is able to achieve this at high settings, though some higher-end hardware is required for a constant 60+ FPS at 4K High settings.

It seems likely that a GTX 1080 Ti would be able to play this game at a constant 60+ FPS at these settings, though sadly we do not have that GPU on hand to test in Destiny 2 to confirm this.

Well they didn't use 16 threads like they said they would. Though hitting 8 threads and still seeing performance increases is still impressive. I'm not even sure it would be worth them using more threads at this point. For Ryzen 7 in particular, with all those extra threads getting little usage, if you were to stream you would have A LOT of extra headroom for the stream and should be able to do it without much problem.Quote

Support for SMT is pretty broken in Destiny 2 ATM, though it could be fixed before launch. We will have to wait and see. That is the things with Beta releases, they are subject to change.Quote

Yeah I understand. I just think it should not be broken since they so confidently claimed they will use 16 threads. If it's broken doesn't give much hope at launch
But still not many games even use 8 cores. So it's still an achievementQuote

Indeed! On my Ryzen 5 and gtx 1080 the game runs at 100fps with max settings.Quote
