Battlefield 1 PC Performance Review

4K Performance

4K is where we finally struggle to achieve a steady 60+FPS, with even the GTX 1080 only managing to achieve a solid 47+ FPS at ultra settings. PC gamers will have to turn down their game settings

PC gamers will have to turn down their in-game settings to achieve a steady 60FPS, which is very important if you play this game competitively, though it is worth noting that this game still looks great on some of the lower presets.

All of the GPUs that we have tested at 4K can achieve a solid 30FPS at Ultra settings, though we would advise that they only play this game at such low framerates when playing the campaign. When gaming online higher framerates do give players a competitive advantage, so 30FPS gameplay will simply not be enough of you are looking for a competitive edge.

Just out of curiosity, would VRAM consumption change between DX11 and DX12 if all settings are the same?Quote

More evidence that a game can look groundbreaking without being gpu breaking.

Developers take note.Quote

Nice review Mark and interesting to hear that it's better than BF4's launch, but would you say it's better than BF4's current state?Quote

There are reports of hugely excessive CPU load bugs... (Only in MP matches)
Like 90-100% CPU usage (Dropping GPU usages) on Beast Rigs, no matter what settings used...

CPU testings need to be done before I buy it...Quote
