Introduction
be quiet's PURE POWER 11 series is the company's most popular PSU range, offering their customers a balance between pricing and performance while not cutting any corners in terms of features. With their new FM series PURE POWER 11 PSU, be quiet! has re-architected their PURE POWER 11 range with Full Modular (hence FM) cabling, and a high efficiency 80+ Gold Rating.
New to their PURE POWER FM range is their 1000W model, which promises users access to the power that's required to run a modern high-end gaming system or workstation. With this new 1000W model, be quiet! has promised users up to 93.9% efficiency levels and quiet operation thanks to the company's use of noise-optimised 120mm fans.
At full load, be quiet expects this new 1000W PSU to output noise levels of 32.1 dB(A), dropping to 23.6 dB(A) or lower at 90% or lower loads. In most instances, this power supply will be practically silent.
New Components
With their PURE POWER FM range, be quiet! is promising their users the ability to use 100% of this PSU's 1000W capacity using its two 12V rails, with 5V and 3.3V power being provided using DC-to-DC converters. This provides users stable power output, optimal efficiency and up to 120W of power to this PSU's 5V and 3.3W rails. This should be more than enough non-12V power for most use cases. Not many modern systems use much 5V or 3.3V power.
The PURE POWER 11 FM has also been designed to support all modern and relevant protection circuits, including UVP, OVP, SCP, OPP, OCP and OTP. Additionally, this PSU supports Intel's low-power C6 and C7 power states, and power saving specifications like ErP/EuP and Energy Star 8.0.
be quiet! has assured us that their product conception, design, and quality control are all conducted in Germany, and they are confident enough in their product to back it up with a 5-year warranty.
GPU Support
be quiet's new 1000W PURE POWER FM power supply offers users the option to use six PCIE 8-pin (6+2-pin) power connectors, which is more than enough to support all modern graphics cards. With next-generation GPUs being expected to feature higher power limits, having a power supply with a high wattage rating will be a must for high-end PC gamers moving forward. That said, this PSU does not feature a PCIe 5.0 power connector, a standard that is expected to be used with high-end next-generation graphics cards.
When compared to older PURE POWER 11 series power supplies, the FM series' fully modular nature makes cable management a breeze, allowing users to utilise the cables they need and nothing else. This will minimise cable clutter in your case, and make your system easier to build and upgrade.
As you can see, be quiet! has put a lot of effort into their PURE POWER 11 FM PSU design, labelling their PSU cables mounting points to showcase what each connector does and which cables to connect to each connector.
Included Cables
Below is a diagram of the included cables with be quiet's PURE POWER 11 FM 1000W power supply, detailing the cable lengths of each of the PSU's supplied cables. This PSU includes older connectors like Floppy Disk Drive (FDD) and MOLEX connectors for legacy devices, and more modern SATA power connectors and other standard connectors for PCIe devices, and motherboards.
