Corsair Gaming Christmas Tree

It's the festive time of the year and we're sure that by now you're all full of egg nog and singing along to some Wizzard and Slade. We certainly are. In an effort to stop ourselves going crazy in the office whilst everywhere we go is surrounded by sleigh bells and tinsel we always try and bring you something slightly different to our regularly scheduled programming. After much beer thought we decided that a technological tree would be the perfect thing, so we've teamed up with the fine folks at Corsair Gaming to put an OC3D spin on the seasonal festivities.

So the million pound question is, what do you get if you cross 7 Corsair Gaming Sabre RGB mice, 13 Corsair Gaming M65 mice (6 white and 7 black) thats 20 mice in total and 3 Corsair Gaming K70 RGB keyboards, with one Tannenbaum?

We think you'll all agree that this is far more fun than the standard boring fairy lights and baubles we're all used to. Thanks to the Corsair software, some custom profiles, and plenty of USB trickery we've managed to have a tree that reminds us of the thing we love doing the most. In fact it's largely thanks to you guys and gals out there that this is as enjoyable as it is.

As we mentioned in our reviews of both the K70 RGB and Sabre RGB they both look great and covering them with pine needles hasn't diminished their looks. At this point we definitely have to thank Corsair for not only supplying all this but helping out with some 'display' firmware that allows our tree to be an array of cycling colours, but still all of a festive hue.

We've got a Corsair Gaming beanie as our fairy. Other things, and indeed people, were considered to have a large fir tree inserted into them but we think the beanie is probably the best choice as a tree topper. After all, the thing that marks you out as being at the top of the pile is a willingness to rise above the petty squabbling and name calling that sullies the industry.

We aren't too sure whether we prefer the white M65 or the Black ones in our tree, but we're probably edging towards the white ones, providing both the lighting and the snow effect.

This job is long hours, nearly always 7 days a week. It also requires serious attention to detail and concentration to ensure that all of our results are as accurate and comparable as possible. We're not saying this because we want you to pity us for getting to play with all the latest hardware, but rather as a preface to our thanks. Our thanks to all of you. This year, 2014, has been the biggest in the history of OC3D. All of our social media outlets have grown enormously in the preceding twelve months, and the meat of our world, the site itself, has seen a spike in traffic thanks to your continued efforts to spread the word.

The hard work you do ensuring our forums are the friendliest and most helpful has always been a cornerstone of OC3D. We abhor the bullshit macho posturing that occurs on many of the lesser technology sites and we know that you, the Overclock3D community, are an important part in letting everyone from the LN2 overclockers to the Atom-owning Facebook brigade feel welcome and valued. Which you are.

It's for you that we burn our candles at both ends deep into the small hours to ensure that you get the fastest, best and most accurate technology coverage around.
