As always with a memory kit there is little to note in the photographs beyond the design of heatspreader. The G.Skill comes equipped with the Ripjaws version, something we like very much with its angles, vents and general appearance of something you'd expect to find in the Death Star.

Why the big box? That's for the below.

It's been a long time since we've seen a memory kit that comes equipped with cooling fans. After all RAM sticks hardly get hot in use, and such a small fan nearly always means insane volume in use. The days when we strapped Delta fans into our cases with abandon are long gone, so the G.Skill has to be quiet at the very least.

Talk about giving with one hand and taking away with the other. The fans are tiltable, that's fantastic. The cables are in the middle of the freaking fans. That's terrible.

Looks the part in our Rampage V Extreme though doesn't it.

"Leave the fans in the box" - EXACTLY what I did.

I ran them for a night, realised they were pointless and the red didn't go with the white / black / silver colour scheme - now they're in the cupboard!

Brilliant sticks though, I was very surprised having never gone with G.Skill before.Quote

I really wasn't expecting such a jump in gaming performance considering memory speed never really mattered (for the most part) in the past for gaming. Very nice sticks aswell!Quote

Great review. The RAM sticks look nice and obviously perform well but as soon as I saw those fans...Ewwwwwww .Quote
