MSI Clutch GM30 Gaming Mouse
The MSI Clutch series of gaming mice is a full set of models encompassing everything from the affordable to the unquestionably premium. The newest entry into their pantheon falls at the affordable end of their spectrum, and yet still has all the elements you'd hope to find on a modern gaming mouse.
There are many elements that go into making a successful mouse. More than any other peripheral it is the thing that connects us to the computer. Whilst many things are listed under "human interface device" the mouse is the one that ends up attached to us the most. Primarily then it needs to be comfortable to use. We're going to be spending a lot of hours holding it and the last thing anyone wants is a design which looks good on a trade show floor but has awkward angles or sharp edges digging into our palms. Then you want it to be responsive and accurate. Mice become an extension of your self and we use them instinctively. Accurate sensors are key. Penultimately responsive buttons with a crisp feel help us accurately control our characters or kill our enemies in those few milliseconds we have to send lead/lasers to our target. Lastly it's nice to have one which looks the part. Yes in regular use your hand covers much of the lighting, but having a quality RGB setup lessens the mental space between our glowing systems and the display. It makes the mouse feel alive so to speak.
The GM30 specifications certainly look like we have all those boxes ticked. But how does it actually perform?
