Kingston HyperX Alloy FPS Gaming Keyboard Review

Introduction

The Kingston HyperX range is expanding at a range of knots. By committing to quality products and building a brand Kingston have firmly established the HyperX logo as one that gives you confidence of the hardware beneath.

We've seen a few additions to the HyperX range in recent times, including the Cloud and Cloud 2 headsets, both of which were very good. Today we have their first entry into the keyboard world with the HyperX Alloy FPS mechanical gaming keyboard. HyperX, because it's under their HyperX gaming arm. Alloy, because the chassis is all metal and, as we'll see on the next page, extremely thin. FPS, because one of the default lighting options is the WASD keys. Lastly, mechanical for the obvious reason that it is entirely based around the ubiquitous Cherry MX switches.

With full anti-ghosting, a charging port for your phone, and a shallow design, the HyperX Alloy FPS ticks all the boxes for a mechanical keyboard. The question is, is that enough to raise it about the myriad other models?
