Cougar 700M Gaming Mouse Review

Cougar 700M Gaming Mouse Review

Introduction

Founded in 2007, Cougar have probably come to the attention of most of you, and indeed us, through their power supplies and cases. As befits a German company the quality has always been good, and now they have turned their attentions to the fiercely contested peripheral market, with the Cougar 700M Gaming Mouse.

As the image at the top of the page might hint at, this reminds us the Cyborg R.A.T mouse. That looked futuristic when it debuted and the Cougar 700M is like the R.A.T if it actually was stuffed with the cutting edge technology those looks implied.

But enough about things it reminds us of, let’s see what the 700M has to offer.

Technical Specifications

The specifications for the 700M read like a wishlist of hardware for a gaming mouse. The key to any high-end gaming mouse is the sensor, and the Avago ADNS 9800 Laserstream sensor is the best on the planet right now. Add that to the OMRON switches and we already have the skeleton of a top product. Once you fit that into an aluminium chassis, give it plenty of CPU and Memory for complicated macro performance, customisable lighting and adjustable weight, it’s clear that no stone has been left unturned in the quest for perfection.
