Clock Speeds

Both cards come with good overclocks out of the box. Not quite up there with the very fastest models we’ve seen, but not exactly slouches either. The RX 480 gets extremely close to its rated clock speeds on average, only a shade beneath. The GTX 1060 similarly averages about 12MHz below the rated Memory speed.

Of course clock speeds aren’t a comparable measure of a cards performance on different architecture, and as we’ll see from our run through some benchmarks the RX 480 card does as much as the GTX 1060 despite the clock speed gap.
