MSI RTX Gaming X Trio 2080 and 2080Ti Review

Ghost Recon : Wildlands

MSI RTX Gaming X Trio 2080 and 2080Ti Preview

Ghost Recon : Wildlands

Whatever you say about Ubisoft they give you a lot of options to play with. Their South American squad sim has the Ultra preset, Subsurface scattering, Ultra long range shadows, Temporal AA, HBAO+, 16xAF, even the Enhanced God Rays. Because who doesn’t want their Divine Rays enhanced?

A good example of why we go to the trouble of laboriously testing all these cards at multiple resolutions and clock speed settings, as the nVidia RTX 2080Ti sneaks ahead of the MSI when overclocked, but the MSI bests it at stock. The two RTX 2080 cards are so tightly matched as to be inseparable, although the Gaming X Trio does just edge its Founders Edition partner.

So this comes from a newbie that likes to watch graphs, but doesn't really know much about the technical aspects behind them: Both tested 2080s have higher average clockspeeds than their Ti counterparts, so this makes me wonder if the 2080s have better potential of higher OCs being squeezed out of them and maybe they could end up with better performance than the Tis at a lower cost.Quote

Nope

2080 has 2944 cores
The TI has 4352 cores.
So its a lot more cores, running at that speed.Quote
