MSI Optix MPG341CQR Curved Monitor Review

If you've recently seen our review of the Gigabyte Aorus monitor you'll understand how weird it is for us that the MSI Optix is considerably larger and yet the box is the same size. When we opened it we half expected The Doctor to step out, as it being a TARDIS is the only explanation we have.
Super wide panels always trick the eye into thinking that they are more of a letterbox than they actually are. This thing is gignormous but it's all for the end result of a richer user experience, and that's something we are always on board with.
The photograph above shows the Optix stand at its lowest height setting, and this shows it as high as it goes. There is certainly a decent amount of ergonomic adjustment available.
Up and down aren't the only tricks the stand can pull, as there is a reasonable amount of tilt functionality built in too. Between that and the height then anyone who can either double as a stand in for Susan Calman or Shaq will find an angle that they can comfortably use.
Curved displays have been a bit of a red herring in a lot of their applications but when the width of the MPG341CQR causes the edges to be somewhat in your peripheral vision then the curve to bring them back into focus is a necessary one.
