Mirror's Edge Catalyst PC Performance Review

VRAM Usage

Below you can see a table showing how much VRAM the game uses at each graphical preset and resolution that we tested. The game has a "Limit VRAM" option in the graphical options menu, so if you have a GPU with lower amounts of VRAM I would advise using it to prevent any performance dips.

Those with 2GB of VRAM will be fine running the game at 1080p medium settings and 1440p gamers will be fine with GPUs that have 4GB or more VRAM.

You could see in our 4K testing that the R9 Fury X had significant performance dips at Ultra or Higher settings and you can see why when looking at this table here. With our GTX 980Ti we see the game using well over 4GB of VRAM, explaining why AMD's R9 Fury X stuggles here.

To play at 4K it is clear that future high-end GPUs will need a lot more VRAM, as AMD's current flagship is limited by it's 4GB framebuffer.

Good to see the Fury X taking the performance lead in 1080P and 1440P Quote

Your hyper settings results are very weird.

Above video shows the 970 struggles with hyper settings because it is aimed at above very high vram cards yet you're saying the GTX 960 and 380 (both 2gb cards) manage hyper settings just fine? How can the 960 beat a 970 when it comes to hyper settings? Answer: It can't. Notice how in the video there's a 20 fps~ difference between ultra fps and hyper fps yet in your results the difference is only 5 or so fps AKA within margin of error.

I think you've messed something up, you didn't untick the gpu memory restriction settingQuote
