1440p Testing with AMD R9 Fury X and Nvidia GTX 980Ti
At 1440p we can finally start to give our R9 Fury X and GTX 980Ti GPUs to actually dip below 60 with the new patch. Performance improvements on Nvidia hardware are slight, but very welcome and on AMD the performance difference is simply staggering.
Now both GPUs perform evenly at this resolution, with averages framerates that are almost identical at all settings and both GPUs hitting the 60Hz framerate cap frequently. Those using higher refresh rate monitors will be able to play the game at a higher refresh rate, but sadly we do not have a high refresh rate 1440p monitor for dedicated game testing.
At high settings we see AMD's average framerate improve from 43.64 FPS to 59.85 FPS, which is a gain of over 16FPS/ 37%.
