EVGA RTX 2070 Black Review

Test Setup

Following the success of sorting our graphs by the 4K results with the RTX 2080 reviews, we're sticking with that for the RTX 2070, so we can see how they compare to their bigger brothers. Obviously this card is designed for the lower resolutions than 4K, so remember to pay close attention to all the numbers, and not just glance at the highlighted position in our graph.

EVGA RTX 2070 Black
Intel i7 6850K
ASUS X99 Strix
Corsair ROG Dominator Platinum 3200
Corsair RM1000i
Corsair LX 512GB OS
Corsair LS 480GB x2 Raid0 Games
Corsair H100i V2
Windows 10

At stock the EVGA Black is very much on a par with the regular nVidia offering and the MSI Armor, which was also a stock card with a good cooler. Indeed we expect the Armor and the Black to be going head to head throughout today's review. The EVGA card makes excellent use of its cooler and natural harmony with the Precision X1 software to boost quite high utilising the OC Scanner, and a manual overclock is also not too shabby. The Zotac still dominates though, but there is a price to pay for that performance.
