Up Close

EVGA are continuing with their vertical box redesign we first saw back on the RTX 2080Ti which certainly catches the eye even if it would either stand out on a store shelf or have to spend its life horizontally. The XC Ultra model designation isn't remotely as loud on the packaging as one would expect. It's almost understated. It's nice to see EVGA have avoided the temptation to festoon the packaging with dozens of tech badges advertising Ansel and all the other nVidia based features.

We've already seen the excellent fan blades on the full FTW3 RTX 2080Ti and discovered that they are not only a nice unique touch for EVGA when compared to their rivals, but have no negative effect upon the noise or cooling performance. In a world where all PC Hardware grows increasingly homogenous having something that differentiates you from the pack is to be lauded.

The cooler reminds us a lot of the other recent EVGA models, with a thin shroud holding the fans whilst leaving plenty of room for the many fins and heatpipes to dissipate their heat. With the whole of the PCB covered, but no overhang, it looks a very classy cooler and promises good thermal efficiency.

Like the nVidia RTX 2060, but unlike the ASUS Strix take upon the same, the EVGA XC Ultra has a single 8 pin PCI power connector drawing a maximum 160 Watts. Outputs are the standard nVidia selection of two DisplayPort adaptors, an HDMI and a DVI-D for those of you with ageing display panels.

Would've loved to see a graph for BFV with RT on and off to see if RT is even remotely possible with this card as I think it's not or at least not playable.

RushKit looks mighty fine already indeed!Quote

We are just waiting for BF V to level out, the updates have made such a huge difference so far its been difficult for us to graph without retesting. Just one game on one card takes us 30-40 minutesQuote
