Deus Ex: Mankind Divided DirectX 12 Performance Review

4K Testing

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided's Direct 12 Patch is out now

4K Testing

At 4K Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is an exceptionally demanding title, so much so that at Ultra settings the game is completely unplayable on out selection of GPUs. While AMD's R9 Fury X does receive some significant performance gains, it is nowhere near enough to make the game playable, meaning that players will need to move down to high or medium settings.

Once again the GTX 1070 performs almost identically in DirectX 12 and DirectX 11 and again the GTX 980Ti offers slightly less performance.

Just started playing this. I'm in the town trying to figure out what to do to get to the book store.

Initially I tried running it at 1080p ultra with the Fury X DX12. Not a good idea. Any way, dropped to "on" for the settings (instead of Ultra) and changed the textures to high. Looks a tiny bit fuzzier mind. Also turned off sharpness as apparently it has the biggest CPU penalty. I'm only running a 2ghz CPU.

Nice solid 60 FPS with the occasional small stutter to low 40s. Seems like a decent game, if only I could figure out where to go.Quote
