Introduction
As the next batch of technology makes its way onto the X99 Chipset, it's easy to look at your Z97-based system and wonder why you haven't had the benefit of all the latest advancements.
MSI must have been wondering too, and have added the Gaming 6 to their range of Z97 motherboards. Supporting SATA Express, M.2 and USB 3.1 it promises to bring the MSI Gaming range bang up to date whilst retaining the many features that have put MSI near the top of the sales charts.
Combine those features with the KillerNIC, the outstanding MSI OC Genie 4, and MSIs own Audio Boost 2, and this should be a motherboard that lives up to the Gaming nomenclature.
Technical Specifications

So let's take a look at the Gaming 6 and see if there is an obvious reason for such a dearth of ports, especially as everything uses USB these days.
