ASUS ROG Rampage VI Extreme Encore Review

x265

It’s still scarcely believable that most of us carry in our pockets a HD video camera, but one only needs to glance at the amount of content available on the internet from simple cat videos through to incredibly complicated films to realise how important fast video encoding is and the x.265 benchmark does a good job of testing that.

Whilst there might not be much to choose between the three overclocked versions of the Intel XE processor range, it is the first test in which it gets incredibly close to the 24 cored TR 3960X. At stock the Encore finds itself at the foot of the graph, albeit not by much, whilst it makes up for that by topping the overclocked setups, again not by much.

Theoretically yes if it is like 9980XE. It is really tricky. But you really need to know what you are doing and be very, very careful. And also i wouldn't recommend it on a regular chip. Only on pre-binned ones, with direct die mount, and ballsy water cooling setup.Quote
