ASUS Z270G Strix Review

Introduction

Mark has very kindly covered all the usual preamble to the ASUS Z270G Strix motherboard here, so make sure that you bring yourself up to speed before we carry on. For those of you who are too lazy – boo – then a quick overview runs as follows.

The ASUS Strix range is rapidly expanding faster than pulling the ripcord on an emergency dinghy. We’ve not long looked at their Z270I, an ITX motherboard which had way more performance than you might expect to find from such a compact offering. Today we’re looking at the Z270G, an mATX motherboard that fits in the squidgy middleground between the tiny ITX and the regular F and E ATX models.

Technical Specifications

Just because it’s a small form factor doesn’t mean that ASUS have scrimped anywhere. USB 3.1, WiFi, the latest Bluetooth 4.1, Intel LAN, reinforced PCI Express slots, two M.2 sockets and the ASUS AURA RGB headers. It ticks all the boxes. But, as we said, Mark has already covered all this so let’s put it to the test.
