ASUS X99 TUF Sabertooth Review

Test Setup

ASUS X99 TUF Sabertooth Motherboard
Intel Core i7-5960X
nVidia GTX780Ti
Corsair LPX 2800 DDR4
Corsair AX760i
Sandisk Extreme Pro SSD
Corsair H105
Custom Corsair 540 Air
Windows 7 x64

The combination of the TUF components and an outstanding BIOS make overclocking on the X99 Sabertooth a breeze. Despite it being a mid-priced (for X99 boards) offering, we still obtained the 4.5GHz overclock that is the norm for our particular Core i7-5960X. This is all stable with a whopping 3000MHz on the DDR4 too, and this will be the speeds we're use in our overclocked tests in the results.

The Sabertooth lineup of motherboards are great boards but am I the only one who thinks that the colour scheme is horrible?Quote

I love it,

but still hate those cheap screws as in the picture above. Why do the still use the "philips" style screws instead of allen like they have done with the silver tipped allen screws.Quote

I dislike how they used two styles of thermal armour. Imo they should have stuck to the smoother 'gunmetal' surface and not put that black 'metal texture' stuff back on. Just makes it look all over the place.Quote

The back looks so much better than the front. Why can't they just make a black board, maybe with a few brownish "TUF" coloured bits. It honestly just looks tacky to me.Quote
