As an Enterprise motherboard the Sage automatically runs at the lowest possible volts when running at stock to help ensure that the whole package is as energy efficient as possible. After all, most businesses don't have custom watercooling loops nor desire earth-shattering energy bills at the end of the year.
This means that it requires a slightly different mental approach than the type of motherboard that we usually have in the office. This is just as much about long term lifespan and efficiency as it is about performance. The tortoise versus the hare approach. Albeit the fastest tortoise around. However, the motherboard hasn't been invented that we didn't want to overclock so for normalities sake we pushed our Core i9-7900 to 4.6GHz. A very good overclock for such a behemoth of a processor. Let's find out how the Sage performs.
