Up Close continued

The Prime X470-Pro has three PCI Express 3.0 slots for multi-GPU solutions as well as three x1 slots for expanded USB, soundcards and all the other items which require less bandwidth than your graphics card. The Crystal Sound audio is separated from the main PCB in a manner that should be familiar to anyone who has followed motherboard trends in recent years.

Sometimes M.2 heatsinks can be fiddly to remove but the one on the Prime is held in place by a couple of screws and is a matter of moments to undo if you're often swapping your storage around.

All of the X470s we've previewed today have had six SATA ports onboard and the Prime is no exception. You can also see the M.2 port below the chipset heatsink and the AURA Sync RGB LED strip header alongside the front panel USB headers.
