Instructions and Accessories

With a good many manufacturers offering you just a "Big-Bag-O-Screws" cable tied to the interior of the case, it's refreshing and somewhat exciting to see that Phenteks have raised the bar somewhat.  Opening up the large Phanteks branded cardboard box we find a set of instructions that have been perfectly tailored to fit the box interior.  It's a little thing, but it's attention to detail like this that shows that a lot of thought has gone into the project as a whole.  Lifting out the instructions we find a rigid tool box and what appear to be brackets individually wrapped in protective foam sheeting.

Lifting everything out and unwrapping it reveals a 5.25" bracket, which will enable you, should you feel the burning desire to, to mount a 5.25" drive at the rear of the case.  We guess it could also be used if you wanted to mount a bay res back there but perhaps we're stretching a point.  Phanteks also include a pump mounting bracket with holes cut to allow a wide selection of pumps to be attached.  Again, with an eye to detail Phanteks have coated one side of the bracket in thick rubber so as to reduce noise and transmitted vibration.  But this is the box that keeps on giving so we need to mention the slack handful of cable ties and an extra Hoop-N-Loop fixing.  Phanteks have also included a Red, Blue and Green LED, either of which can be swapped out with the white one in the front of the case so that you can better match the case illumination to your mood or more usefully perhaps, the theme of your build.  And last but not least, far from a Big-Bag-o-Screws, Phanteks have included a tool box which has ten individual compartments for all the screws and fittings you're likely to need in the build.

The instructions are an example of detailed glossy gorgeousness, with good use made of text and multi language instruction.  There's also a handy dandy exploded diagram near the front to give you a better idea of how everything goes together.
