Intel i7 8700K Gaming Rig Competition

Intel came to us recently and asked us if we would like to give away an i7 8700K CPU to our lucky readers, clearly the instant answer was yes. Rather than just leaving it there though we got straight on the phone to Asus and after a short call we had a ROG Maximus X Hero and a GTX 1070 Ti Strix on route. So thats the bulk of the silicone taken care of and this would have made an epic upgrade package for someone to drop into their own system at home but we wanted to push that little bit further and we knew that Corsair had released or was going to be releasing exactly what we needed to make an entire system. The 500D is released today (22nd February) so this was going to be the start date for our competition and we knew we had to have their latest case holding our precious cargo. Team this up with a 500GB MP500 M.2 SSD, 32GB of 3200Mhz Vengeance RGB Memory, the latest 360mm H150i AIO watercooler the unarguably awesome RM750i PSU and then a whole host of ML120 RGB fans and lighting strips means this ends up being both a top performing and looking system!

I think this looks slightly better than the 570X, which is a bold thing to say because that's a sexy case. This looks more industrial and robotic and less like a museum centre piece; more up my alley. I also love the layout and features.

Thanks a lot for the competition. I've entered. All the best to everyone!Quote

I just finished watching the review video and it seems like a great case. It's been many many years since I've been able to afford to build a new system so I haven't paid much attention to newer cases. I'm happy to see such simple quality of life improvements like dust filters, built in cable management, and easy open doors. That's probably standard these days but they are changes I would have greatly welcomed when I did my last build. I really enjoyed the looks of the case and I absolutely agree that the smokey glass looks sharp on a dark obsidian case like this one. Thanks for the comprehensive review, I will definitely consider this case as a possibility once I finish saving up for a new system in the next few months. Now all I need is for GPU prices to drop closer to normal again. Quote
