Roccat Cross Headset Review
The USP of the Roccat Cross has to be the multi platform compatibility, and the cable solution Roccat have come up with to achieve this. Rather than give you a main cable and then provide adaptors for the end, the Cross comes with two distinctly different cables which you can utilise depending upon your application. So for smart devices we have a 4 pole with inline microphone and a microphone mute button, whilst for everything else there is a dual 3.5mm cable that comes with the boom microphone hard wired into it. We wouldn't like to place odds on how well that microphone will survive if you plan on putting it your rucksack to game at the other end of a journey. It just seems mad to not put the microphone on the headset - in either retractable or flip styles - and just leave the cable to be a cable.
Beyond the cabling the Cross is a lovely designed headset with dual hinges that have plenty of height adjustment for those of you who are secretly a Conehead, whilst the embossed headband and crisp logo on the outside of the ear pieces let the world know into which brand you have thrown your lot.
