1More Spearhead VRX Headset Review

The 1More software is responsive, well laid out and with a reasonably small footprint. Thankfully the headset is so good 'out of the box' that it isn't obligatory, but you'd be missing out on some great features if you don't run with it.
This is absolutely the jaw-dropping, "call your momma in the room" feature of the Spearhead VRX. It is the audio equivalent of TrackIR or even a VR headset. With no setup beyond toggling it to on, you get a true spacial audio effect which is so impressive it borders on magic. It doesn't just shift the audio around so that it is louder in the ear facing the screen, but instead you can get effects where you can make the rhythm section of a band louder than the melodic section, or point your head at the enemy flanking you and focus your ears upon them. It's ridiculously impressive.
With the 1More TripleDriver we had a headset whose audio profile was so good it required no real manipulation and the Spearhead VRX is the same. The quality of the drivers is so good that you get clear audio reproduction from chest pounding bass through to crystalline highs. Perhaps most impressively though is how responsive the equaliser is. Even the profile below - one of the presets - doesn't cut certain frequencies so as to enhance others, it merely pumps up particular ones.
The Spearhead VRX supports a few different lighting effects and a range of colours. Perfect if you want to represent your team or just bring your headset in harmony with your own favourite colour.
