Co-marketing Relationship Aims to Promote Two Leading Brands - Windows Vista and
Maxtor OneTouch III - Offering a Combined Simple Solution for Backing Up YourDigital Life and Your Life's Work

2007 INTERNATIONAL CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW (CES), Las Vegas (Booth #30659) - January , 2007 - According to a recent Harris Interactive® study1 sponsored by Seagate Technology (NYSE:STX), a majority of American adults (57 percent) agree that the content of the files they have stored on their computer is worth more to them than the actual dollar amount of their computer. However, consumers and small business owners are still not protecting their content. Helping to educate consumers and small business owners, Seagate today announced that the company is working with Microsoft to raise awareness on the need to safeguard valuable digital content and data. To accomplish this task, the two companies have entered into a joint marketing agreement promoting Windows Vista Backup and Restore and the Maxtor OneTouch III, as a combined, simple and easy solution to help protect photos, music, business documents, videos and more. Activities will include Web promotions, advertisements, launch events, trade show activities and retail promotions that focus on educating people about protecting their digital assets.
