Patriot Memory have announced the expansion of their highly successful Viper Xtreme Series of memory kits with the addition of six new memory modules. With the new launches, Patriot expects to enhance the appeal of their memory kits to enthusiasts and serious gamers.
Four of the six new kits are triple-channel ones while the remaining two are dual-channel ones. While the dual-channel modules are in 4GB (2 x 2GB) and 8GB (2 x 4GB) capacities respectively, the triple-channel kits comprise of two 6GB (3 x 2GB) modules and two 12GB (3 x 4GB) RAMs. All six kits need 1.65 V of current for their power supply.
The dual-channel kits run at 1,600MHz with undisclosed latencies. The clock speed however, should be sufficient to accommodate most games at extreme settings. Among the 6GB triple-channel offerings, one kit is clocked at 1,600MHz with latency of 8-8-8-24, while the second one runs at 2,000MHz with a latency of 9-10-9-27.
The last two kits – the 12GB modules are also at 1,600MHz and 2,000MHz, but with latencies of 7-9-7-21 and 9-10-9-27 respectively. For heat control, all kits have been fitted with Patriot’s proprietary copper heatspreaders, which ensure enhanced heat dissipation compared to aluminum heatshields.
Talking about the additions to their Viper Xtreme series, Patriot’s Engineering VP Les Henry had this to say, “Today we introduce new speeds and capacities to our flagship heatshield design. Now enthusiasts using either the Intel P55 or X58 platforms have a variety of options in terms of capacity and speeds with our new high performance heatshield design. Our Viper Xtreme Series showcases our expertise in developing and delivering performance solutions for the enthusiast market.”
Pricing and availability are expected to be announced soon.
