Corsair, popular amongst enthusiasts for their high power, high quality power supplies, amongst other things, have released a range-topping 950w model, dubbed the TX950. It boasts a massive 78a +12v rail and is designed "to meet the demanding requirements of PC enthusiasts, creative professionals and gamers". The single +12v rail delivers 936w or 98.5% of the unit's total output, which is a seriously high figure. It uses a 140mm fan to keep cool, which remains quiet up to 65% load, according to Corsair.
The unit is 80PLUS Bronze certified, meaning up to 85% efficiency. It is also certified for multi GPU solutions such as CrossfireX and SLI, with it's array of connectors - six 6+2 pin PCI-e power connectors, 12 SATA power, 8 four pin molex, 2 floppy and the usual 20+4pin and 8pin power connectors. It lives up to the usual Corsair standards, with a mean failure time of 100,000 hours and the standard 5 year warranty.
This power supply is really designed for the extreme users wishing to run a highly overclocked multiple GPU system, and it's more than capable of doing so.
