ATI Releases New Notebook Chipset Page: 1
ATI has just recently announced the release of the Xpress 1100 series of notebook chipsets. Supporting AMD's new Turion X2 CPU & the upcoming Windows Vista, and with a graphics chip up to 33% faster than the previous Xpress 200M, this chipset looks to possibly be a force to be reckoned with. One of the main features that is put up is longer battery life.
The onboard graphics chip uses ATI's newest in power management technology, Powerplay, which will automatically adjust the graphics core clock speed and voltage. This, combined with the Turion X2's own power management will help give this platform superior battery life.
The Xpress 1100 chipset will be available in notebooks made by leading manufacturers such including Fujitsu-Siemens Computers, Gateway, and HP. ATI's Press Release
