Arctic Cooling adds 4870X2 Cooler to its Accelero XTREME range.
Arctic Cooling have announced the addition of another VGA cooler to it's Accelero XTREME range of VGA coolers. The Accelero XTREME 4870X2. This cooler has been specifically designed to meet the demanding requirements of ATIs Radeon 4870X2 and follows the design of the Accelero XTREME range to provide a class leading cooling solution for this particular card.
The Accelero XTREME 4870X2 comes replete with three 92mm PWM fans that generate 81CFM of airflow whilst running between 1000 and 2000RPM allowing swift and efficient dispersal of the heat generated by the two GPUs. An eight heat-pipe design coupled to the three fans allows the Accelero XTREME 4870X2 to achieve 320 Watts of cooling capacity. This not only extends the life of the graphics card but allows a larger headroom for overclocking. The end result is a significant 50c drop in the temperature of the graphics card compared to the stock cooling.
By employing low noise impellers and using Arctic Coolings patented fan holding technology, the three PWM fans on the Accelero XTREME 4870X2 operate almost silently. The PWM function ensures they only run at the speed necessary to restrain the heat generated by the card, and even running at their full 2000RPM capacity they only generate 0.5 sone, creating a substantially quieter gaming environment.
The Accelero XTREME 4870X2 comes with a six year warranty and is expected to be released at the end of March 2009 at a price tag of around 60 Euros.
