Valve's VR Headset has been Revealed

We have known that Valve has been working on a VR headset for some time, but now Valve has finally made a lot of information about the headset public ahead of GDC next week.

We know that Steam's VR device will be know as the Vive and it will be made by HTC, a short trailer for the device is available below. The device will be available to developers from Spring 2015 and to the public from Holiday 2015. The device will use two 1200x1080 displays, which HTC say will cover your full field of vision and will refresh with a a framerate of 90 frames per second.

"HTC’s Vive headset, powered by SteamVR, pulls those virtual worlds off your computer screen and into your home. You’ll experience sights and sounds vivid and lifelike enough to transport you to another place, another time—whole new realities with limitless possibilities."

That looks huge!!

With something that big on your face, your neck will start to get tired, it'll make it horrible to use!Quote

I sense future neck pain right there. Those who buy this will most likely be putting alot of gaming hours into their day and it does not look comfortable. Even those straps will dig in/wear and cause soreness.

I see many heads in the future with slightly less hair from the strap friction of head sway.Quote
