Seagate has launched a whole new range of SATA HDDs, including SSD enhanced FireCUDA drives and drives with capacities of up to 10TB.

This new range brings back classic names like the Barracuda for traditional storage, but also adds Firecuda for those who require SSD accelerated HDD storage, Ironwolf for those who want to protect their data in a RAID configuration and have optimised firmware for multi-user usage and Skyhawk for those who need a drive that can handle heavy video recording and near constant usage.

Most of these new drives come with 2-5 year warranties and come with specialised firmware for your particular use case scenario.

Seagate's Baracuda drives will come with a 2-year warranty and in capacities of up to 10TB. These drives are designed for typical desktop or laptop use, and will come in 3.5" and 2.5" form factors. The 2.5" variants of these drives will only come with up to 2TB of storage.

Fast and versatile, BarraCuda drives feature the industry's highest capacities for both desktop and mobile computing. With huge capacities up to 10 TB and 7,200 RPM, BarraCuda Pro provides that extra kick.

FireCUDA SSHDs are designed to offer HDD style storage with SSD enhanced speeds for your most commonly used files. These drives are very useful for those who want mass storage and fast read/writes on a budget or simply cannot afford a large SSD.

Introducing the ferocious FireCuda — providing gamers, creative professionals and tech enthusiasts with a very satisfying flash-accelerated HDD experience.

Ironwolf NAS SSDs are designed specifically to be used n a RAID configuration, with specialised firmware that will allow this drive to perform well even when multiple users are using the same bank of drives. These drives will come with a 3-year warranty at up to 180TB/year usage rates.

Ironwolf Pro HDDs are expected to launch later this year.

NAS-optimised to be 24x7 in NAS enclosures. IronWolf is tuned with AgileArray, providing drive balance with rotational vibration sensors, RAID optimisation, and advanced power management. IronWolf is equipped with multi-user technology, allowing you to do more with your NAS.

These drives are designed specifically for use with video security equipment, being tuned for 24/7 usage and to handle constant writes from multiple video sources.

Smart, safe and secure, SkyHawk is engineered for 24×7 video recording. Record more with support for up to 64 HD cameras backed by a 180 TB/year workload rating, 3× the workload rating of desktop drives, and store up to 10,000 hours of HDvideo on capacities up to 10 TB. SkyHawk surveillance storage scales with your needs.
