Samsung Introduce 7.68TB PM963 2.5" SSD
Samsung has introduced their new PM963 2.5" Enterprise SSD which offers speeds of up to 1,600MB/s reads and 1,200MB/s writes and capacities of almost 8TB.
This SSD is intended to replace Samsung's existing PM953 SSD, which had capacities of up to 1.92TB, making this new SSD from Samsung have up to 4x as much storage capacity. The new Samsung PM963 will have models with capacities of 960GB, 1.92TB, 3.84TB and 7.68TB.
This SSD is made using Samsung's newest 3-bit TLC V-NAND, allowing this SSD to offer much larger capacities than it's predecessor and higher read and write speeds. The Samsung PM963 is intended for data center use, offering the same per drive capacity as high-end mechanical storage drives while also offering ultra-fast NVMe SSD speeds.
Right now Samsung has not announced any pricing plans or a release date for this SSD.
