Micron's new 9400 SSDs have now entered mass production, and they are available with storage capacities of up to 30.72 TB and can deliver ultra-fast PCIe 4.0 storage using a U.3 connection and the NVMe protocol. If you need a lot of storage that's quickly accessible, Micron's 9400 series may be for you.

In a standard two-rack 24-drive server, Micron's 30.72TB  9400 SSDs can be used to give customers 737TB of data per server. That's a huge amount of data, and with each drive being capable of delivering 1.6M IOPS for 100% 4K random reads, users of these drives will be able to access said data at insane speeds.

With their new 9400 SSDs, Micron has stated that their drives are capable of delivering 77% more IOPS per watt than their last-generation drives, enabling decreased power consumption levels for servers and lowered operational expenses. Micron also claims superiority over their competition, stating that their drives can deliver "71% higher IOPS for 90% read and 10% write workloads (surpassing 1 million IOPS)" and "69% higher IOPS for 70% read and 30% write workloads (surpassing 940,000 IOPS)". With their 9400 drives, Micron's aiming to deliver huge drive capacities and tonnes of storage.

Micron has tested their 9400 SSDs across a variety of workloads, finding the results below;

- For RocksDB, a storage database renowned for its high performance and used for latency-sensitive, user-sensitive applications like spam detection or storing viewer history, the 9400 delivered up to 23% higher performance and up to 34% higher workload responsiveness.

- For Aerospike Database, an open-source NoSQL database optimized for flash storage, the Micron 9400 demonstrated up to 2.1 times higher peak performance and superior responsiveness. Aerospike Database underpins time-critical web applications like fraud detection, recommendation engines, real-time payment processing, and stock trading – meaning the 9400 can deliver faster results for these time-sensitive use cases.

- For NVIDIA Magnum IO GPUDirect Storage which enables a direct memory access data transfer path between GPU memory and storage, the Micron 9400 beat the competition by delivering 25% better performance in a dynamic system with compute-bound tasks — a critical improvement for AI environments.

- For multi-tenant cloud architectures, the Micron 9400 delivers more than double the overall performance of a competitor's performance-focused SSD and up to 62% better response time.

Micron's new 9400 SSDs will be available soon with drive capacity options between 6.4TB and 30.72TB. These drives utilise the U.3 interface, which is backwards compatible with U.2 sockets.

well my recent 2tb ssd cost me about £150 so i expect this will be super expensive lol

However solved my issues with the 750D still looking for a sata expansion card posted a question on one at amazon but it's tempting to buy it but for now 22.25tb's is enough, soon wont be once i get a few more coming games i expect.

So once this other decal turns up next week thou post being as it is idk when it'll get here then i can switch my stuff over and rearange the room somewhat the 750D is a fair bit bigger so needs more space.

if i had an endless wallet i'd take 3 of these please lolQuote
