Kingston Reveals their A2000 and KC2000 Series NVMe SSDs

At CES 2019 Kingston has officially revealed their A2000 and KC2000 series of NVMe SSDs, each of which delivers increased performance when compared to their last-generation counterparts.

These performance levels are improved thanks to two factors as both new SSDs now use 64-layer 3D TLC NAND and have switched from Phison controllers to newer Silicon Motion chips. The A2000 has also moved to a PCIe 3.0 x4 configuration, allowing the NVMe SSD to access more bandwidth to offer increased transfer speeds.

Both new SSDs will offer 256GB, 512GB and 1024GB models, with the higher-end KC2000 SSD also offering a 2048GB variant. The lower cost A2000 will offer sequential read/write speeds fo 2,000/1,500MBps while the KC2000 will offer sequential read/write speeds of 3,000/2,000MB/s. The table below details how these specifications compare to their last-generation counterparts.

Both SSDs are expected to be available in late March or early April. Pricing information and additional specifications are set to be revealed at a later date
