DRAM and NAND prices are expected to fall by 10% in Q4 2020

Citing their own industry sources, DigiTimes has reported that DRAM and NAND pricing is expected to decrease by 10% in Q4 2020, significantly reducing the cost of DDR4 DRAM and SSD storage. 

These pricing decreases are said to be due to oversupply, making memory cheaper as the world enters 2021. This price decrease could be due to several factors, from the slowing of economies across the globe due to the COVID-19 pandemic to the inability of many consumers to purchase luxury technological products at this time. 

NAND and DRAM prices are predicted to decline further in 2021, a factor which should allow DRAM modules and solid-state storage to become more affordable. For PC builders, this is great news, but for NAND producers, lowered NAND/DRAM pricing will lead to lowered profits.
