Crucial's 1TB P2 SSD is now available for under £65

If you want to upgrade your PC's storage, today is a good day for you. Amazon UK is currently selling Crucial's 1TB P2 NVMe SSD for £64.99, a company M.2 SSD that can offer users much faster sequential read speeds than its SATA-based competitors.

With sequential read speeds of up to 2,400 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 1,800 MB/s, this SSD is much slower than newer PCIe 4.0 or PCIe 5.0 SSDs, that said, these speeds are many times faster than older SATA SSDs and plenty fast for most modern applications. If you want an affordable SSD for your games, this drive may be for you.

The downsides of Crucial's P2 series of SSDs come from its use of QLC (Quad-Level-Cell) NAND and its lack of a DRAM cache. These characteristics are not ideal for high-end applications, such as creator workloads or applications that are write-heavy. That said, this drive is perfect for use as a secondary storage medium for less important applications or games.

Crucial's P2 series of SSDs offer a lot of capacity for very little money, making it an excellent upgrade option for people who have a few spare M.2 slots on their motherboards. These drives can also be placed into an M.2 SSD enclosure and be used as a fast external storage device, outperforming most portable storage devices by a large margin.
