Corsair teases their MP700 PCIe Gen5 NVMe 2.0 SSD

Corsair teases its fastest SSD yet, the MP700

Corsair’s getting ready to launch a new PCIe 5.0 storage drive called the MP700, a NVMe 2.0 M.2 SSD that promises to deliver sequential read speeds of up to 10,000 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 9,500 MB/s. This SSD is ready for the latest PCIe 5.0 compatible motherboard platforms, including AMD’s compatible AM5 motherboards and Intel’s compatible 600 and 7000 series motherboards.

The MP700 is confirmed to used 3D TLC NAND and support the NVMe 2.0 interface. Additionally, the drive ships with a large aluminium heatsink that includes an integrated SSD fan.

Below is what Corsair has had to say about their MP700 PCIe 5.0 SSD.

Experience the performance of PCIe Gen5 storage in your system, with up to 10,000MB/sec sequential read and 9,500MB/sec sequential write speeds for amazingly fast save, boot, and load times.

The high-bandwidth NVMe 2.0 interface and high-density 3D TLC NAND flash memory offer outstanding performance and longevity. Slot the MP700 directly into your motherboard thanks to its M.2 2280 form-factor, while a stylish aluminum heatsink helps manage temperatures and reduce throttling. Microsoft DirectStorage enables unprecedented load times when playing compatible games.

Today’s PCIe 4.0 SSDs can deliver sequential read speeds that surpass 7,000 MB/s, but Corsair’s earliest PCIe 5.0 drive smashes those speeds by reaching to 10,000 MB/s barrier. That means that this SSD can deliver speeds that are up to 3,000 MB/s faster. In other words, Corsair’s newest M.2 SSD is around 40% faster than its predecessor.
