DOOM Eternal is due to release on April 20th, acting as one of this quarter's most highly anticipated game releases. Yes, some of this is due to the delays of Watch Digs: Legion, Cyberpunk 2077 and Dying Light 2, but that shouldn't take away from the ambitions id Software.

Bethesda Softworks has released a new trailer for DOOM Eternal, highlighting everything that their fast-paced FPS has to offer, from its single-player campaign to the game's multiplayer BATTLEMODE.

DOOM Eternal's singleplayer campaign follows the events of DOOM (2016) and sees the armies of Hell invade earth. Throughout the game, the DOOM Slayer will be tasked with destroying these demons in space, on Earth and across dimensions and "rip and tear until it is done".

In multiplayer, players will be placed inside "BATTLEMODE", where players will control demons on the DOOM Slayer, putting players into a kill or be killed scenario.

Below is DOOM Eternal's new "What is DOOM Eternal?" trailer.

Become the Slayer in an epic single-player campaign to conquer demons across dimensions and stop the final destruction of humanity. Raze Hell and discover the Slayer’s origins and his enduring mission to rip and tear… until it is done. Then, enter BATTLEMODE and choose your side in a new 'Slayer vs Demons' multiplayer experience.

DOOM Eternal launches on 03.20.20.

One of the most ambitious aspects of DOOM Eternal is the technology which will make the game possible, offering players better visuals than DOOM 2016 while continuing to provide 60FPS framerates on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Stadia. DOOM 2016 was already a pretty game, but the graphics offered by DOOM Eternal are nothing short of breathtaking, especially when combined with high framerates.
